In this report, they assessed the Ecological Footprint of the small Salish Sea community of Galiano Island for the first time, situating Galiano Island within the broader territories of Hul’qumi’num, SENĆOŦEN, and Halkomelem-speaking Indigenous Peoples, and undertook a qualitative study referred to as the Ecological Fingerprint. They also generated a Biocapacity estimate for the lands and waters that comprise Galiano Island.
